Interview: Pauline Cremer

(March 2021)

Pauline likes "cheese, rainy Sundays, dark chocolate and movies," which makes her alright in my book. I really like the spindly shapes and rich, strong colours in her illustrations. You can see more of her work here.

Apart from that I’ve worked on designs for fabric together with a small shop in Berlin.

Since January I’m working on my first comic together with Julia Schneider and Miriam Beblo. The comic deals with the subject of financial literacy — it’s for children as well as for adults. I love to combine analog and digital techniques and I work a lot with linocuts.

Tell us about your practice!
So far I’ve been working with several magazines and newspapers just like Der Freitag, Delayed Gratification and Soft Punk Magazine. I love to work on editorial Illustrations because it‘s always a challenge to reduce an article in one picture.

If you could have a magical power, what would it be?
My magical power would be to disappear like a chameleon. I guess it’s like being wrapped up in an illustration.
